An artistic mission of high demand

The International Piano Competition -Istanbul Orchestra’ Sion aims to promote internationally recognized professional musicians who have been selected from all over the world. This mission has been prompted by a desire to give artists a place to develop and expand musically, to offer musicians the opportunity to enjoy human and artistic exchanges with the public, and with a jury composed of distinguished international concert performers. The International Piano Competition-Istanbul Orchestra’Sion aims to be regarded as a milestone in the career of young concert performers and at becoming over the years a major musical event in Turkey, in the Mediterranean region and even beyond.

The competition will take place in the concert hall of Notre Dame de Sion High School, located in the centre of Istanbul. The candidates will be selected on examination of DVDs or audiovisual files. The competition will include four rounds. During the Finale concert, the candidates will be accompanied by the Orchestra’Sion Orchestra under the baton of conductor Orçun Orçunsel.

All prizes will be presented at the Gala Recital of the competition.

The International Piano Competition-Istanbul Orchestra’Sion has been a member of the Foundation Alink-Argerich since 2013 and the World Federation of International Music Competitions since 2017.

With the kind collaboration of IKSV, we are happy to inform you that the candidates of 2024 will perform the rounds of the competition on a piano Steinway & Sons D.

The Organizing Committee of the Competition also relies on the expertise of Franck Ciup, member of the jury of the 2013 competition, consultant in France and President of the pupils’s Jury of the competition since 2015.

We also thank the Kuğu Müzik store for the loan of upright pianos for the candidates’ rehearsals.
